Episode 147: Attack of the Steves

Grant’s dumped Steve ‘cos he keeps going on about his L-39 ride, so he’s brought in Steven Force from the Airspeed podcast (aka Steve Tupper) to help out and keep the Steve Balance happening, although it may not work out quite the way he thought as new Steve doesn’t quite get the news items.

  • The Delta and Virgin Australia alliance (aka Delta-V) has been approved.
  • Virgin Australia are giving their E-190s to Delta.
  • Qantas management are going up against their pilots and engineers unions with the pilots considering a strike while the engineers cancelled theirs due to “technical issues” with Qantas aircraft (something about a few engine fires).
  • The RNZAF’s 6SQN celebrated recently with a formation fly past of a WW2 Catalina and a couple of their current Seasprite helicopters.
  • The RAAF have deployed their F-18Fs for the first time overseas with attendance at the Bersama Shield exercise in Malaysia.

About this point, Steve manages to get into the studio and discovers the recording underway and the two Steves start talking jet flights. It all goes down hill from here for Grant.

You can find more of Steve Tupper at his Airspeed podcast and his Acro Camp project.
