Recorded live on the last day of the Avalon International Airshow and the boys are in the back end of a KC-135 (serial 62-3575) with Grant lying on the Boomer’s couch looking out at the people hiding from the heat in the shade of the aircraft. Between Avalon experiences, they go through a few of the Down Under avaiation news stories.
- The RAAF are going to buy a fifth C-17.
- A number of contracts relating to training have been signed during Avalon and there’s a chance the T-6 Texan II will be gracing skies Down Under.
- Grant’s been amazed watching the C-27J flying like a fighter.
The boys then move over to the large tarmac parking area (known as the Keyhole) where they’re watching a DC-3 (VH-AES) being re-positioned and checking out the other aircraft parked in here, including a pair of F-22s. This gives them a segway to drop in an excerpt from their chat with a RAAF exchange pilot who’s been flying the F-22.
Following six days of airshow craziness, the boys are very tired and Grant’s only hanging in thanks to a can of Mother so it’s time to wrap it up and get back into recording the last interviews before everyone leaves.
